I've recently discovered Sennelier pastel paper. It has a surface reminiscent of sandpaper designed to hold pigment and reduce the degree of fixation required. I favour Unison pastels made in Northumberland and their intensity may be judged in this drawing. The model was lit from two sources; one a lamp and the other a window. The difference in 'temperature' created a subtle range of colour.
